Bear Knuckles gloves are designed to fit tightly for better control and dexterity. Our sizing guide reflects a glove that will fit like a second skin. With regular break-in, the leather will expand and conform to the natural shape of your hand. If you desire a loose fitting glove, we recommend sizing up (L instead of M).

Conditioning for 1st Time Use

To achieve a perfect fit, Bear Knuckles gloves should conform tightly to your hands when wearing for the 1st time as leather will stretch.

Break-in Steps

Put gloves on
Spritz with water
Note: If gloves are water/oil resistant, use mink oil or leather conditioner instead of water
Wear until dry

Maintenance & Cleaning

All Bear Knuckles gloves are safe to hand or machine wash and dry. After machine washing, gloves will shrink to original size and may be stiff. Follow Break-in Steps above to recondition.

Feel nice but didn’t hold up

Gloves fit wonderfully. Got 62 hrs of work out of them and they busted loose at the thumb on my left hand. Which is my non dominant hand.

Size down

I wear different styles of Bear Knuckle gloves in 2XL…. these are larger than the others. Excess around the hand, size down.

Great customer service for a great product!

We have bought our gloves from Bear Knuckles for a few years now, and decided to try the Mechanic Style Goathide Work Gloves. They have a bit of a tight fit initially, but end up working well. One of the gloves had a small defect, and they replaced it right away with a new pair, no hassles! Great service all around.

Finally got to use them for turning wrenching and general shop work, they are great, workmanship is outstanding they fit good when i first got them now broken in they are much better.

Runs small

I only use Bear Knuckles gloves now in my landscaping business. They hold up incredibly in the field, cutting trees and other hard work. I purchased these new gloves because I thought they might work for finer detailed work. Problem is, they run small. I order the XL sized glove in the regular gloves and can stretch them out to fit my hand perfectly. As a female, the XS works well, and wish you would include this size in the heavy-duty gloves. The new glove does not stretch, and I should have ordered the small. I will make them work, but a bit disappointed.
