Bear Knuckles gloves are designed to fit tightly for better control and dexterity. Our sizing guide reflects a glove that will fit like a second skin. With regular break-in, the leather will expand and conform to the natural shape of your hand. If you desire a loose fitting glove, we recommend sizing up (L instead of M).
Conditioning for 1st Time Use
To achieve a perfect fit, Bear Knuckles gloves should conform tightly to your hands when wearing for the 1st time as leather will stretch.
Break-in Steps
- Put gloves on
- Spritz with water
Note: If gloves are water/oil resistant, use mink oil or leather conditioner instead of water - Wear until dry
Maintenance & Cleaning
All Bear Knuckles gloves are safe to hand or machine wash and dry. After machine washing, gloves will shrink to original size and may be stiff. Follow Break-in Steps above to recondition.Feeling soft and always durable
I would buy then again.
Haven't put them to use yet. I lost 1 of 2 pairs in the pasture, so will be trying them out when I lose the reg pair.
They're a bit stiff but I use them to break down brambles and not mutilate my hands. Order a size up because they are a bit small, but very heavy duty!
I can't honestly knock these down to 3 stars, because they are indeed so ruggedly made. And the disappointing fit is something that has always been an issue for me. If only I could get these gloves with the palms of a size large and the finger length of a small. I have mediums which feel too tight my hand (they recommend a tight fit and letting the gloves form to the hand, but these mediums are very tight), but the fingers are quite long, especially the pinky. It's disappointing how badly this impairs the dexterity. The only solution for my short finger problem would be to pay through the nose to some specialty, handmade glove company where you'd send a tracing of your hand or something like that. Oh well. Hands are different. I expect for many people, these Bear Knuckles would be 7 stars out of 5.
