Bear Knuckles gloves are designed to fit tightly for better control and dexterity. Our sizing guide reflects a glove that will fit like a second skin. With regular break-in, the leather will expand and conform to the natural shape of your hand. If you desire a loose fitting glove, we recommend sizing up (L instead of M).

Conditioning Leather for First Time Use

To achieve a perfect fit, Bear Knuckles leather gloves should conform tightly to your hands when wearing for the first time as leather will stretch.

Put leather gloves on
Spritz with water
Note: If gloves are water/oil resistant, use mink oil or leather conditioner instead of water
Wear until dry

Maintenance & Cleaning

All Bear Knuckles gloves are safe to hand or machine wash and dry. After machine washing, gloves will shrink to original size and may be stiff. Follow Break-in Steps above to recondition.

Welding Gloves

Ordered L & XL welding gloves. Couldn’t even get them on my hand. Sizes were very small. Subsequently ordered 2XL & 3XL. Fit on my hands but now the wrist portion of the glove is extra wide and doesn’t feel like it’s secure on my hands.
Overall- they appear to be made well but fit very weird.
Probably will not order again.

My favorite tig glove

These goat skin gloves take a bit more break in than deer skin, but for the work I do they’re a perfect cross between the feel of deer or elk hide and the durability of bison. I find them ideal for my job which involves a good bit of fabrication interspersed with periods of pipe and pressure vessel welding.

I measured my hands and ordered the correct size according to directions. I have sprayed them once and wore them until dry. The thumbs seem a little short-from the web to the tip and I am hoping that they will loosen up. They do seem to be well constructed.

Our TIG gloves are intentionally designed with shorter fingers so they feel like a 'second skin', giving you better dexterity and precision when manipulating your welding rod and torch. Of course, not all thumbs and fingers are the same size and we have to develop based on averages. Thank you for being a customer!
